In this workshop we'll introduce some key Hadoop concepts including HDFS, MapReduce, Hive and NoSQL/HBase, with the focus on Oracle Big Data Appliance and Cloudera Distribution including Hadoop.
We'll explain how data is stored on a Hadoop system and the high-level ways it is accessed and analysed, and outline Oracle's products in this area including the Big Data Connectors, Oracle Big Data SQL, and Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI) and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).

Mark Rittman, author
Mark Rittman is an Oracle ACE Director, and is Chief Technical Officer for Rittman Mead, an Oracle-centric data and analytics consultancy with offices in the UK, Belgium, USA, South Africa, India and Australia. Mark has worked with Oracle BI, DW and database technologies since the late 1990's.
