In latest versions of Oracle the number of initialization parameters which should be set after initial installation is getting really smaller.
Unfortunately the growth of the size of databases, multi-tier architecture and big numbers of end users are creating new threat for proper configuration. On the other side the hardware is getting more and more CPUs, server’s memory is measured in terabytes what makes people so comfortable about performance that they make huge mistakes in proper application development.
This session will point out most critical ones which were observed in last two years during the performance firefighting.
